Alistair Fyfe — Principal

Alistair has nearly 30 years of experience with all aspects of the interest rate swap industry, including marketing, operations, risk management and regulatory compliance. 

From 1985 to 2000, Alistair headed the interest rate swap group at KeyBank and grew revenues from $1 million to $60 million. Since co-founding B&F Capital Markets, Alistair has worked with many commercial banks on a joint venture basis to initiate, develop and grow interest rate swap groups. These partnerships with regional banks ranging in size from less than $1 billion to more than $20 billion in assets have resulted in B&F becoming a leading institution in the swap market. 

His length and breadth of experience working with middle market hedging programs is unmatched in the United States. Alistair has experience working with all areas within a bank, including: bank boards, executive management, treasury groups, accounting, regulators and internal/external auditors. Alistair earned his undergraduate degree in accounting and business law from Stirling University, Scotland, and a postgraduate degree in export management from Buckinghamshire College, England.

Derek Beitzel — Principal

Derek Beitzel — Principal

Derek has over 20 years of experience across all sectors of the interest rate swap business. As the founder of a derivatives group at Hibernia Bank in 1992, he set up both front and back-office trading systems, wrote derivatives credit and accounting policies and handled regulatory reporting.

After joining KeyBank in 1995, Derek assumed responsibility for marketing to clients in the bank’s northeast region. Over the next four years, he and his expanded team of marketers closed more than $3 billion in transactions in the region. In 2000, Derek was named managing director and national sales manager. In this capacity, he managed a nationwide group of marketers and support personnel responsible for more than 1,000 swap transactions annually.

Since co-founding B&F Capital Markets in 2003, Derek has worked with client banks throughout the country, establishing swap programs and meeting with commercial clients to explain the swap product. Derek is based in the firm’s Austin office and is responsible for B&F’s business in the central and western portions of the country. Derek has degrees in finance and real estate from the University of Texas at Austin.

Dolf Röell — Executive Director

Dolf Röell — Executive Director

Dolf has more than 27 years of banking experience, including middle market commercial lending, large corporate lending, commercial real estate lending, special assets, and more than 17 years’ experience in capital markets. Most recently, Dolf served as one of the Group Managers of BB&T’s Capital Markets operations and manager of the Corporate Finance Services group at AmSouth Bank (now Regions Bank).

In his role at BB&T Capital Markets, Dolf was Group Manager of Derivatives and Syndications, and built the infrastructure and teams necessary to grow the businesses substantially. As manager of Corporate Finance Services at AmSouth, Dolf oversaw the development of the group from a Loan Syndications Group to a shop offering Loan Syndications, Private Placements of Senior Debt, Mezzanine Debt, Public Finance, Private Equity, and Interest Rate Derivatives.

Additionally, Dolf has been an active member of both the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) and Loan Pricing Corporation (LPC). He has served on the board of an investment bank, an equity fund and the advisory board of several equity and mezzanine funds. Dolf has a degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
